Every point is a separate nearest-grid-cell extraction from the same run of the same model, so the differences here are the model's, not an artefact of comparing two sources. Two points inside one 2.5 km cell will return identical numbers — the day matrix reports each point's own cell offset so that case is visible rather than mysterious.
